3 Shortcuts to Liberate Ourselves

Remembering Our Origin

Staying in the Uncomfortable

Continuous Self-Examination & Purging

What is Liberation?                                                                                                          Liberation is being unchained from the false beliefs of this world and  acknowledging the powerful nature of our Divinity.    Liberation is an awareness that we are not of this world and are therefore operating from a different perspective and Divine guidance.

So, liberation is simply an acknowledgment of our eternal nature and the realization that we have come into bodies, by choice, to create and to widen our experience of the fullness of our Divinity.

What are the benefits of Liberation                                                                                   The benefits of liberation are many and they are very nuanced and subtle.  But basically, we become more at ease, we look to ourselves for answers, we become masters of ourselves, we stay joyful, we are humble, we act into the world instead of reacting, we attain a level of peace that surpasses all understanding.  Verse 66 of the Tao Teh Ching paraphrased says:  The sea is the queen of all rivers because it lies lower and all flows into it.  One who humbles themselves serves all people, does not burden, obstruct or compete and therefore is followed because of their subtle virtuous joy.

One - Remembering Our Origin

We are born into this world and the first thing the world teaches us is how to function in the world.   How to act, how to survive, how to get ahead, what is acceptable and unacceptable.   We get fully indoctrinated in the world.    What no one typically emphasizes is, we have a larger mission.  That we are eternal beings, and we are only ‘here’ for an earthly lifespan. That our mission is beyond this world.   We are here to love, create and explore our Divinity with ourselves and each other.    When we garner an eternal view, our perspective and strategy elevates greatly.

Two - Staying in the Uncomfortable

To become liberated we have to stare into the uncomfortable.  Liberation is a painful and often scary process.    It is much easier to stay protected in our comfortable abodes. It is easy to view everything and pass judgement from the controlled environment of our cars.  The homeless are homeless because they are lazy and don’t work, right?    War, the lack of nutrition and water, the sex trade, the violent greedy dictatorial nature of our a sundry governments are all pixels on our screen.

But when we actually actively get out of our comfort zone and enter into the dark chaos we gain insight, empathy and understanding.

Liberation is a painful process, because all the beliefs that we have staked our existence on get uprooted.   It is literally an act of chaos.  Tearing down our whole belief system and examining it is very uncomfortable.  It is counterintuitive and until we get a little further into the process, the benefits seem negligible and esoteric   It is much less painful to live a cocooned, comfortable first world life.

Three - Continuous Self-Examination

Liberation is simple, it’s just not easy.   First, somehow, we have to wake up.   Awaken simply means to realize we are in this world, but not of this world.  That we are eternal and we are playing a long game.  Once we have awakened, we look at all the earthly thoughts and beliefs we have been programmed with and determine if those programs are serving us. Do they really align with Higher Self?  All beliefs that don’t align, must be discarded. This purging is a continuous process of refinement, done over a lifetime.  The purging starts with issues that continually present themselves.  As the process continues the issues become more granular in nature.    In Chapter 48 of the Hua Hu Ching, it says “Finally, after all the layers have been peeled away, one comes to see the integral, universal truth.”
