Story # 24

Bill Pautler

Until my trip to Little Rock, I was not consciously aware of all the people that are continuously trying to uplift our thinking. Out there on this planet, there are people that are actively focused and daily ushering in new thoughts from the Divine.

“Friendship as the average person understands it is perhaps a little more than acquaintance; but in reality it is more sacred than any other connection in the world. To a sincere person, entering into a friendship is like entering the gates of heaven; and a visit to his friend is a pilgrimage to a true loving friend.” - Hazrat Inayat Khan

I awake today in a little cottage in Little Rock AR, it's 5:00 AM, the rain, thunder and lightning have been dancing since midnight. I walk out on my porch feeling the wetness, observing the dawn, hearing the birds chatter, and smelling the purity and vivaciousness of life.

Until my trip to Little Rock, I was not consciously aware of all the people that are continuously trying to uplift our thinking. Out there on this planet, there are people that are actively focused and daily ushering in new thoughts from the Divine. Upgrading our thinking and the consciousness of the Collective on this planet.  Continuing the transmutation of this realm into a whole and holy place. These souls are adopting lifestyles and practicing modalities that are changing the fiber of our minds, the structure of life in this realm. They're ushering in higher consciousness and replacing the old broken norms that are no longer serving us.

So, this is a story about those people. The ones I have met in the last five days.

Alese, my friend, politely opened up her home and her friends to me and an orchestrated my five day experience, this past week. Alese and I met online and have been talking for months. Having long friendship and spiritual conversations on the phone. But we had never met in person, yet she opened up her home and her friends to me.  What trust and faith, and what a gift to me.

Alese is an entrepreneur in the middle of a startup at the age of 70. Isn’t that remarkable?  Recreating herself one more time! Isn’t that what we are supposed to do, all the way to death? Just create, create, create!  It is the cycle of life. Spring, summer, fall, winter. Day and night.  Brahma the creator, Vishnu the maintainer, Shiva the destroyer. We create the structure, we maintain the structure and when it no longer serves the highest good of the All, we destroy it.

We do this in the outside world and if we are healthy, we do this in our inner world, in ourselves.  The quicker we can release our outdated beliefs and traumas, the quicker we can step into our awesome power. The power that is our inheritance. Our inheritance, by the simple fact that our every breath, our every thought, our every action is allowed and animated by the Great Alpha and Omega…. The Great Unknowable…… The Great Unnamable.

Alese, not only graciously introduced me to three of her close friends, all of which are purposely ushering in a more congenial environment for us to thrive in.  But unbeknownst to me, she orchestrated a studio session where she spent three hours asking me questions about my book and my spiritual thoughts.  Very, very thoughtful.  That video soon to be released on my upcoming YouTube channel.

This story is just a glimpse of the depth of Alese and her friends…..

Denise is a former attorney, a health and wellness coach and an integrous keyholder at the Arkansas House of Prayer (AHOP). Denise opened the door to AHOP and invited Alese and I to step in. The energy at AHOP is solid, introspective and humbling.  The clean architectural lines draw out your spirit. The pit in the middle of the meditation room is filled with dirt that has been brought, blessed, and ceremoniously poured into the pit by spiritual leaders from across the country. The cozy wooden library inspired me with awe as I looked at the authors that have broken ground for Us.  After our meditation, we ascended the hill and walked the labyrinth. A time of offerings, contemplation and gratitude.

We met Leah for coffee, she is a community activist, salsa instructor, tarot reader/astrologist, author to be, and chose to have and raise a child without a partner. Activities that break the norm and promote life. Her business encourages women to thrive through movement, herbal healing and skin care (Skin is the largest organ in our body, which makes up 16% of our body mass, it protects us, regulates our temperature, and allows us to sense the world!).

We met Alison and her husband Dave for a three and half-hour dinner of delightful conversation.  Alison is an Intuitive, a life coach, meditation instructor and a reiki master.  Dave never told me what he did for a living, but he is a drummer and literally, music never stops running through his head. He receives a continuous Divine beat download.  Alison and Dave shared three things that were profound.

  1. Alison often collaborates with clients that hold anger, sadness and trauma. She asks them how long they have been holding these emotions.  They commonly respond, “Years”.  And then she asks them, “Decades?”.  And they usually say, “YES”! Then she helps them release the baggage their spirits have carried for so long. (How long do we carry emotional baggage to our detriment?)

  1. Dave and Alison shared how, like in all marriages, they have had their struggles. Alison then shared a specific belief/expectation she had placed on Dave. When he couldn’t fulfill this expectation, she then realized it was unrealistic to ask Dave to meet all her expectations. She then released her expectation and turned her focus to loving the beautiful attributes she married him for. (What if we let go of our expectations of our partner and focus on their beauty? The beauty of their soul.  Maybe we could do that with all the souls in our lives?)
  1. And I think this was the most beautiful thing they shared. In their marriage, they continually tell the other, “I choose you”.  (What if once a week, we looked at our significant other in the eyes and said, “I choose you”?  What healing and grace does that promote? Would our partners and friends feel seen, chosen and loved? Would we then be able to see, choose and love ourselves also?)

On a final note, I felt very light in Little Rock. After some discussions with Alese and her friends about their adventures digging up crystals and quartz in the mountains surrounding Little Rock and then a phone call from Pete, a friend from Birmingham. I realized my lightness was associated with the massive quartz deposits in and around this area. Interesting or crazy?  It feels true to me.
