Remembering We Are Eternal

This is the second story (302) in the Awakening Series.  Our past stories are:

#300 Introduction – The Purpose of Awakening

#301 First Story – Remembering Who We Are

Our last story was about remembering that we are Divinity in a body. Great Big Genie, Itty Bitty Body. So, please hold that thought as we jump in and discuss our eternal nature.

I would like you to remember what ‘remembering’ means. ‘Remembering’ means to put our members back together. In this story we are discussing one of our members, one of our essences. That member or essence or quality is that we are eternal. We are built as an eternal unit.  We are built with an eternal essence.

The awakening process is all built around remembering who we really are. It is a process of remembering our true nature.  Our original essences.

One of our essences is Divinity.  We are Divinity because we are sculpted from Divinity.  And the essence we are talking about today is our eternal nature.

I am thinking more and more each day about how we define God in our minds.  When I say God to you, your God is probably a lot different than my God.

Right now, stop and picture a tree in your mind.  Do you have your tree pictured?

I did that, also.  My tree is a large white oak on a hillside in a particular park I frequent. I bet your tree was different than my tree, right?   So, our definitions of God are different also.  The way we picture God is greatly influenced by our religion, our culture and our upbringing.

Part of our awakening is redefining our definition of God. Because if we believe we are animated by the Spirit of God, then we are the qualities of God.  If we believe God is a God of judgement and that we will stand before God and be cast into heaven or hell, then internally we will always be judging ourselves and others.

Even though defining God is a very esoteric process, we will all have to label Her, if we are going to talk about who She is.

So, my current definition of God is something along the lines of; an Essence that has no beginning nor an end, is conscious and gives life to all that exist.  Most of us believe God has always been there and that is why She is sometimes referred to as the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. If we have consciousness, which we do because we are all aware of ourselves, then God must be conscious and birthed consciousness into the us.  And anything that is alive, must be alive because God gave it life.

So, my current name for God would be something like The Great Consciousness.

So, if The Great Consciousness has no beginning or end, which means It is eternal, and we are animated by It, then we are eternal.

But often in this world we don’t think about our eternal nature. We think about death and dying.  We think we are short on time.  We think about how old we are. We think about how much we need to get done and what we need to get accomplished.

And these are all fine things, as long as we don’t forget we are eternal. Because if you look at every decision with an eternal viewpoint, your decisions will take on a more wholistic/holistic process.

I have six children. I have made decisions that have impacted their lives. There have been times when I made very hard decisions that they weren’t happy about. And a number of times, different ones stopped talking to me.  Sometimes for years. That can be very painful for a parent.  But I framed many of those decisions with an eternal viewpoint.  Knowing that it was (in my humble opinion) the best thing for my child’s highest good. And that even if they walked away from me for this lifetime, we would reunite after this earthly life.

Many of the prophets that have come to earth have sacrificed their lives for an eternal cause they thought was worth more than their earthly life.  That is an eternal view.

Having an eternal viewpoint gives you freedom.

When we talk about addiction, we are talking about someone’s inability to go without some outside stimulus, like pornography, drugs, alcohol, etcetera.  Anyone with an intense addiction spends the majority of their time focused on when and how they are going to get their next stimulus hit. The addiction takes up all their mind space.  They are constantly planning their next drink, how they are going to get it and preparing for it.  Therefore, they don’t control their life, their minds are chained to their addiction.

All of us are only as strong as our weakest addiction. We all have addictions.  Whether it is a substance, like alcohol or drugs or it is an action like shopping, gaming, our phones, binge watching or a belief pattern of fear and victimization.

Even manipulation, power, abuse and romantic love can be addictions.

The further we can put off our weakest addiction, the more untethered we become.

Every addiction chains our mind to our next dopamine hit.

Having an eternal viewpoint is like having a good strategy.  There are two parts to every good adventure.  Strategy and tactics.

Strategy is the plan. We are going to Paris, we are flying, we are going on these dates, the weather will be warm, we want to eat at Bouillon République, and we want to go to the Louvre.

Tactics are the actions to execute the plan. We get someone to watch the pets, we buy airline tickets, we alert our credit card company we are travelling internationally, we make hotel reservations, we pack our bags.

Having an eternal strategy allows us to make good tactical decisions in the world.

So, the more we get in touch with our True Divine Nature, we can look at all our actions from an eternal viewpoint. We ask questions like: Is this the best use of my time, is this the highest good for me, is this the highest good for those around me, is this difficult thing I want to accomplish in alignment with my Divine work, is this decision bringing joy, peace and goodness to the All?

The decisions can be big, like deciding to get married, have children, or choosing a career.  Or they can be small, like picking up a piece of trash off the ground or taking the time to smile at someone or saying a kind word even when we are in a hurry.

An eternal viewpoint unchains us from the norms of this world and allows us to act out of our true eternal Divine nature.

It gives us freedom, liberation, and awakening.  We become unchained.

The Bible says, Do not conform yourself to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may know the perfect pleasing will of God.

An eternal viewpoint helps you not to conform to this world, because you know this is a temporary gig.  Transform means to make a dramatic shift in character. Renewal means to make new again.

So, an eternal viewpoint shifts our focus from this world to the eternal world. Transforming and renewing our minds by aligning our minds with our higher selves. Our higher selves know our perfect will.  Because we came into this world with a perfect plan. And that perfect plan, our perfect will, is in alignment with the All, The Great God Consciousness, The Alpha and the Omega.
