Again, the specter raised a cry, and shook his chain,

and wrung his shadowy hands.

“You are fettered,” said Scrooge, trembling. “Tell me why?”

“I wear the chain I forged in life,” replied the Ghost.

“I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it...”

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

We all carry chains, though they are seldom visible. Not forged of iron, but of fears, attachments, judgments, and the choices we make against our own soul. Each link is small, almost unnoticeable — a single compromise, a moment of forgetting our Divinity. Yet over time, they grow heavy. The miracle is that the same hands that fastened them hold the key to release.

Our religions have fed us bad programming

Our religions often feed us bad programing. They often reinforce fear, judgement and punishment, instead of personal responsibility and freedom.   As a Catholic growing up, I was taught about original sin.  The concept that our souls come into this world tainted and we must earn our salvation.   Our reward would be heaven and our failure being either hell or some type of purgatory.

Christianity has been around for over 2000 years.   And its original goal was to codify Jesus’s teachings.  But all prophets embody their teachings.  Prophets are their teachings. Religion is man’s way of trying to build a set of rules around a deep and wise philosophy.   A deep and wise philosophy is hard to codify.  We can embody it, but it is hard to build into a religious structure.   And these religious structures are built and perpetuated by imperfect men that have ego, fear, greed and often desire power.  So, those characteristics creep in and become inherent even in a well-meant religious structure.

This is not a condemnation of religion, but with clarity we should look at what we have been taught and how we choose to participate.  Religion in its highest form can point us to God and in its lowest form is misleading and misdirects us.  It may be time to look at the false chains we have agreed to.

So, what if?

So, what if the Divine created each of us as a soul, an individuation of Itself.  A soul “...purposely created...to become a companion with the Creator.” (1)    A soul created out of God, in God’s image, to be a companion with the All in Her universe, Her uni-verse, Her one-song.  Not about fear, not about worship, but to be one with, to create with in harmony and goodness.

And as a soul learning how to co-create with God “...it would only be through a thought process of personal experiences-–one choice leading to another, and then another and then another—that God’s companions could gain their own individuality, truly being a part of Him and yet individuals in their own right. Once they have discovered their individuality they would once again return in consciousness to be His companions and cocreators.” (2)

And therefore, we would have to have freewill.   We would have the freedom every single day, as a soul in this physical world to act freely.  But each and every decision we would make either is life bringing, non-life bringing or neutral toward the ultimate fulfillment of our souls return to God Consciousness, where we will be Her companions and cocreators of the Uni-Verse, the One-Song for all of eternity.

Personal responsibility and freedom

Jesus’s name, in his day, would have been Yeshua.  Yeshua means salvation.  And salvation means “deliverance from harm, ruin or loss”.

What if Yeshua didn’t come to die for our sins?    What if he came to show us ‘the way’ to deliver us from harm, ruin and loss.  To show us how to be delivered from our fears, attachments, judgments, and the choices we make against our own soul.

What if Yeshua, over the course of many lifetimes, perfected His Christ Consciousness, which was an individuated Consciousness of his own, yet was still in perfect alignment with God Consciousness?  And therefore, was able to cocreate in perfect alignment with God?   And he came to show us ‘the way’ to use his Christ Consciousness to break the distorted patterns we have adopted in this realm. So, we can become perfect individuated Co-Creators.  Beings perfectly aligned with Goodness and Wholiness.

What if Yeshua’s message of love, forgiveness and deliverance was about teaching us to break the chains we form for ourselves?  Just like in The Christmas Carol story.   What if we actively choose to wear the chains we forge in life?  We make them link by link and yard by yard and decision by decision.  And we wear them of our own free will?

The word ‘live’ means something that is life giving. ‘Live” spelled backwards is ‘evil’. Every choice we make is either toward ‘live’ or ‘evil’.  Life giving or life taking. Notice the Devil tarot card. Notice that the word Devil contains the word ‘evil’.  Notice that the male and female are chained to the pedestal.  The pedestal represents materialism and earthly desires.  Notice the chains around the neck are loose, symbolizing the self-imposed nature of our choices. Choices that keep us from being liberated.   Choices that keep us chained to our smallness.

My final point.

Divinity lives inside us.  Yeshua called us ‘friends’ not ‘slaves’.  As friends of God, our goal should be to become Gods.   Because gods act out of their own selfishness and pettiness, but Gods act out of their perfect alignment with the All.   We are individualized, yet fully connected, conscious co-creators with the One.

With awareness let’s look at the chains we have created for ourselves.   And with awareness watch them melt away!

Let’s adopt Christ Consciousness!  Let’s liberate ourselves, so we will never know fear.

Realizing this fantastic adventure we are on.   An adventure where we leave the Bliss to ultimately become a new, individuated form of the Bliss.

Go be your best god.  So, we can become Gods and manifest in beauty, balance and symmetry into the One Song.

Go create a conscious life, making each decision choosing life not death,

without succumbing to the world; living in limitation, chains and fear.  That is beneath our calling and our power.

Liberation is our true inheritance, claimed through daily decisions to love.
